Working with SharePoint Sites, Lists and Libraries
Using SharePoint Designer to connect to your SharePoint site and start customizing it is the first step of working with it. After that you should know that you can create some content types such as Libraries, lists or sub-sites with it. Then you learn how to create views with it.
Introducing to Master Pages
Most pages in SharePoint are based on the default. Master page which is stored on the _catalogs folder inside the site collection. So when it comes to customizing a SharePoint site it makes sense start there. However if you ever try to modify default. Master and keep it valued for every page on the site, you know it could be a challenge. This section we go for a sample customization. In this section we will introduce master pages and place holders. Then learn how to create a page from a master page. Also after that we will customize some master pages.
Cascading Style Sheets
In this section we will introduce CSS to you and how you can attach them, and use custom styles in your custom pages. Also we will introduce style Task Panes to you. You will learn how to know different types of styles and how to find the history of applied styles on an element in the page.
Create a Publishing Page Layout
In this section we focus on the task of creating layout pages on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, We also use page fields and content fields. Modification of web parts, web part zones, and CSS and page layouts can be complex tasks. SharePoint Designer exposes these objects in task panes and dialogs. So their properties can be edited easily without need to go to the code of the page.
Manage Data Source Libraries, Using the Data View
Creating web application that displays data from different data sources, and then shows the relationship of those sources to one another typically requires coding custom data source connections and custom coding on the pages to display that data. SharePoint Designer enables the same scenario where we need no code at all. All the data source connections can be created using user interface. And then views and connections are created with a simple drag & drop. So we show you how to create a no code application.
Workflows enable you to create a business process that all steps triggered automatically based on events and conditions you specify. In SharePoint Designer workflows are created using the workflow designer that allows you to pick from all of the available workflows on the server and cerate complex logical branches. In this section we are going to create an intermediate workflow for you.
Working with Code View, Code Snippets, Code Hyperlinks, Intelligence & Code errors
Even with all of focus on the design surface of SharePoint Designer, you may also recognize that there are reasons to go in the ASP.NET code and make it look and behave as exactly as you want. This section adjusts features such as code hyperlinks which allow designers to jump
from one piece of code to another or even another page. We will look at intelligence and auto complete as well as how SharePoint Designer displays code errors and help users to fix them.
Creating a New Theme
SharePoint ships with a number of themes. But if one of them doesn’t quite meet your needs, it is difficult to modify. In this section we build a custom theme by making modifications on the server itself. So these changes are available to every site in the server.
Working with Task Panes & Setting Client Configurations
It is important that people using any given application, be able to customize their application and use the tool they need right where they need them. Whether this is web parts or data task panes for people creating SharePoint applications, or designers working with cascading style sheets. The user interface should not get in the way of being productive. In this section we will customize the task panes. SharePoint Designer has 12 toolbars. But only shows 2 by default. In this section we will look how to create a new toolbars to create the least amount of clicks necessary to accomplish common tasks. Since SharePoint Designer is most often used to modify Windows SharePoint Services and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server, it makes sense to create toolbars that turn on directly into SharePoint functionality.
